The Municipality of Thinalion (in Ancient Greek, the words "para thin
alos" meant "beside the sea") is perhaps the most representative of
Corfu. Huge sandy beaches, lush vegetation, beautiful woods, waterfalls,
rivers, caves, a fabulous lagoon, all dominated by the imposing mountain massif of Pantokrator with its ancient villages - this is the corner of Paradise which you will come to love the most.
Life here rolls by at a slower and more relaxing pace, with swimming in
safe, calm waters, with long walks in unspoilt countryside, with visits to
historic churches and picturesque little villages, with rambles along
ancient footpaths. There is, too, the opportunity to become acquainted with local cuisine in small tavernas, as well as more sophisticated evenings at modern places of entertainment.
Acharavi has one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in the north. It is
now a major resort and has extensive tourist facilities and a vibrant night
life. There are many travel agencies and other centres offering assistance to the visitor, all with the aim of helping guests enjoy unforgettable holidays.
